Albert Rivera Díaz (born November 15, 1979, Barcelona) is a Spanish lawyer and politician of Catalan and Andalusian ancestry. He is currently the leader of the Citizens' Party.,[1] after having been a member of the conservative People's Party (PP) from 2002 to 2006. Albert Rivera quit PP just three months before running for elections with Citizen's Party[2]
He studied at the ESADE law school. At the 2006 Catalan Parliament election (the first campaign they participated in after its recent creation in July 2006), his party scored 3.04% of the votes and won 3 seats in the Parliament of Catalonia.[3]
